As part of Kernel DAO governance process, proposals will be submitted in this forum and receive questions, feedback, and analysis from other members.
To ensure that the community will be able to provide constructive feedback, the proposal should have the following details laid out:
- Proposal Summary with key suggestions, asks.
- Background about the proposal or relevant entity linked to the proposal (if applicable).
- Who will the proposal benefit? Expected impact and value for the Kernel community.
- Are there any underlying risks?
- Other details, including any analysis, that corroborate the key suggestions
- Expected effort / resources needed from the Kernel DAO Core Team and/or the community (if applicable).
- Metrics/KPIs to track results.
If you’re unable to express your idea into a focused and organized proposal, share it in the Ideas category instead. It can snowball into a solid proposal !
Validation process for proposals
-
The proposal will be open for community feedback for a minimum of 3 days (72 hours).
-
The kernel DAO Core Team will review your proposal together with the DAO delegates. They will take the community feedback into consideration and give feedback on the forum and decide to approve or reject the proposal, or request additional information.
-
If additional information was requested, the applicant has five calendar days for an answer; otherwise, the Proposal will be closed, status [Closed].
-
If [Approved], proposals that require onchain actions to be performed proceed to becoming formalized as Kernel Improvement Proposals (KIPs).
Both KIPs and proposals that only require off-chain actions from the Kernel DAO Core Team need to ultimately be voted upon by the Kernel DAO Community on the Snapshot voting platform with their $KERNEL token holdings.
