Kernel DAO is committed to creating a robust and independent governance mechanism in line with our progressive decentralization. In that spirit, we are excited to announce the launch of our delegation program for Kernel governance. As a member of our community, you can now apply to become a delegate and help shape the future of our protocol.
If you are interested in becoming a delegate, please include the below information in your delegate pitch:

- A pitch explaining how will you add value to Kernel DAO and its community.
- Background and Qualifications.

Kernel DAO Core Team, plus existing delegates at the time of submission, will review all applications and select delegates based on their value addition, prior experience, and commitment to the Kernel community.

FAQ:
Q: What is the Kernel DAO delegation program?
A: The delegation program is a way for key community members/ groups to become delegates and participate in the Kernel DAO governance process with a stronger voice than its $KERNEL token holdings alone may suggest.
Much like in representative forms of government, delegates vote on behalf of those that delegate their voting power to them. Delegates play an essential role inKernel DAO Governance, as many community members may not be able to dedicate sufficient time and energy to stay informed of all the latest proposals, forum discussions, and protocol developments. Delegating their voting power enables these members to still have a say in governance, without being intimately involved in the day to day workings of the DAO.
Q: What are the responsibilities of a delegate?
A: A delegate represents others in Kernel DAO Governance. Delegates are expected to vote regularly on proposals and to contribute to active forum discussions.
Q: How are delegates selected?
A: Delegating is permissionless.
Q: How does delegation actually take place?
A: Kernel DAO uses Snapshot voting, and delegation is an easy-to-use feature of Snapshot voting.
Q: Can any KERNEL token holder delegate their KERNEL tokens to these delegates?
A: Yes, anyone with KERNEL tokens can connect their wallet to Snapshot voting and delegate their tokens to a wallet of their choice. We will be publishing lists of delegates and their wallets, as we onboard them.
